An accomplished composer and playwright, his latest musical, “Hannah and Margaret,” received a concert reading in April. Other works include scores for the musicals, “Jack the Ripper: The Whitechapel Musical,” “Animal Farm,” and the award-winning musical for young audiences, “Reigning Cats and Dogs.”
Bergman’s score for the Red Sox musical, “The Curse of the Bambino,” was produced by the Lyric Stage Company of Boston before the team won their first championship in 2004. His play, “The Trial of Madeline Gee,” was presented by Massasoit Community College in 2018.
As a keyboardist, Bergman’s work can be heard on the CD and DVD recordings of “Nunsense Jamboree,” starring Vicki Lawrence. He has also toured the country conducting productions of “Dreamgirls” and “Guys and Dolls.”
