Join Sarah Troxler and the chorus on Monday, September 8th at the Pilgrim Church of Duxbury, 404 Washington St., for the first rehearsal of the holiday concert season. There are no auditions and, although helpful, it is not necessary to read music to join.

The first rehearsal begins at 6:45 p.m. so that singers can register and pay dues. Dues are $80 per concert season and include the cost of music, which singers get to keep. Subsequent rehearsals are held each Monday from 7 to 9:15 p.m. The Fall concerts take place Saturday December 13th at the Duxbury Performing Arts Center, 73 Alden St., and Sunday December 14th at South Shore Conservatory, 64 St George St, Duxbury.

All voices are welcomed!  We DO NOT AUDITION. Some familiarity, or willingness to learn, with reading music would be helpful. All we ask is for the commitment to weekly rehearsals, a couple of optional Saturday morning rehearsals and the willingness to sing your heart out. Snug Harbor Community Chorus attracts vocalists of all skill levels, dedicated to the performance of choral music from many genres.

Our main concerts are presented twice each year. We may perform other concerts when/if possible. The fall/winter rehearsal season begins in September and culminates in a Christmas concert featuring traditional carols and varied seasonal fare that are representative of the various styles and moods of the season. The spring rehearsal season begins in January and culminates in a concert that features show tunes, folk, popular, and movie classics.

The chorus is composed of residents from Duxbury, Pembroke, Plymouth and several other communities on the South Shore as Cape Cod. For more information contact our President, John Sherman at (617) 943-1747 or johnshorizen@aol.com.

Rehearsals are held on Monday nights from 7:00 to 9:15 pm at the Pilgrim Church of Duxbury.  The time may be adjusted slightly at the director's discretion. Rehearsals are scheduled from the months of September through December for the fall/winter season and from the months of January through May for the spring season. New members may attend the first 2 rehearsals as a trial option before joining on a permanent basis. The music must be returned after each rehearsal until it is paid for.

Dues are $80 per concert season to cover operating costs and the cost of the music (yours to keep).  To learn more on singing with SHCC, please click the image above to review our Member Handbook (PDF).
